Slovenia will be the first team to practice after corona-virus delay Click to comment Recommended for you ShareTweetShareShareEmailCommentsWORLD HANDBALL COACH 2014 is Ljubomir Vranješ. Jury of Handball-Planet.com had no doubt about the name of the man which team made the biggest progress in 12 months behind us. Famous sports phenomen “Miracle of Bern” got the handball version in the “Miracle of Cologne” directed by Ljubo and his “Jungs”. SG Flensburg’s head coach speaks exclusively for Handball-Planet.com.After only 4 year of the coaching career, you are elected for the WORLD HANDBALL COACH 2014. How do you feel about that, did you expect such a great year?– Wow…I mean WOW is my first reaction. I am of course very proud and full of joy in the moment. I personally didn’t expect anything but i would lie if I didn’t tell you that we have high aims in Flensburg. High goals or missions are always necessary to have as an athlete and as a coach.Your triumph and way how you did it – “Miracle of Cologne” will have a special place in the handball history. What are your memories on those days in Lanxess Arena? It was like a movie…– In Cologne we had a magic weekend, everything what you have been dreaming about became reality, but still you couldn’t believe it. When we won we where the underdogs, but we believed until the last second and at the end, we stood there as Champions League winner. Standing with my team on the podium, watching Karlsson raising the trophy is the an incredible moment in my career as a coach. I am very happy for my players that they had this moment together. The sport “phrase” that is harder to defend than to win the trophy is always actual. How do you see SG Flensburg after the CL trophy. What has changed in team, you, your fans…– It is of course very difficult to win CL again, but I am always believing in my team and we have our goals. I always won’t to win no matter what squad I have. This year I have 8 players with very little experience from “big” games and it is a struggled with time, but we are on the right path. Our fans are following us with some patients in the moment and they are supporting us in every game. They are also proud of the title and enjoying it. And they should, because without them it would have been impossible. For me personally, Ii am always looking forward to develop my players to be even more better then the last year, and that is an every day work that I love. What is your next aim, future goal in handball career? Which is your next handball dream? How you would like to spend next 5-10 years?– I am the kind of person who always want to take a step forward. I am dedicated to this sport that I love so much and I will do my best to do my part so we have a better handball for our handball fans all over the world. I am also a dreamer and my dreams are big (smile). In the next 5-10 years I am seeing myself winning more big titles. This award made me more hungry then ever. I want to say thank you to all handball fans all over the world and to the Jury for this award. I am very proud and I will do my best to improve more. This gave me ENERGY – concludes Ljubomir Vranješ.PHOTO: SG FLENSBURG WEBSITE ShareTweetShareShareEmail Ljubomir Vranjes dissapointed, but proud: Only one defeat and you can’t play 1/4 final… Related Items:Ljubomir Vranjes, SG Flensburglast_img read more
