This new open source community will be critical if 5G is to reach its full potential.”In a blog post, Arpit Joshipura, general manager, Networking, Edge & IOT at the Linux Foundation, noted that while there have already been efforts to bring open source to software technologies such as SDN, NFV and NFV orchestration, the RAN has been dominated by proprietary technology. Parlee Introduces SLi Road Bike Option for Electronic Shifting Groups

first_imgParlee has a new SLi frame that’s a Di2-only version of their SL full carbon road frame that removes all shifter cable stops and runs the electronic wires internally. It has a custom battery mount bonded to the carbon chainstay, which puts it out of the way and keeps the center of gravity low. Price is the same as the regular SL, $4,700, and includes a ENVE 1.0 fork, carbon seatpost clamp and carbon front derailleur clamp. Weight between the SL and SLi frames will be within 15-20g – it loses the weight of the cable stops but gains the battery mount.Lots of closeup detail pics and more info after the break, plus their new solution to running standard Shimano cranks on new PFBB30 frames! They used Shimano’s short battery mount attached to a mount bonded directly to the frame for a super clean look. The other difference is the SLi gets a PFBB30, where current models of the Z5 and SL have regular BB30 for now. When making the switch to PFBB30, they needed a solution for running Shimano’s standard cranks. Rather than rely on existing bearings with adapters, they developed a new alloy bearing cup that presses into the frame and fits standard Shimano cranks. What’s really cool is this piece will fit any PFBB30 frame and should be available aftermarket soon. The SLi is also available through their custom program, which uses non-standard lug and tube construction (as in, the lugs are wrapped together to allow custom angles and geometry), shown above and below and in the pic highlighting the PFBB30 adapter. They’ll probably be doing an “i” version of the Z5 in the future, especially as Ultegra Di2 comes around.last_img read more

Joshua Akpudje Gets Jersey Number At New Club BFC Daugavpils, Poised For Debut

first_imgThe 21-year-old central defender will wear the No. 44 jersey at the Latvian Higher League side this season but confessed to busybuddiesng.com that it wasn’t his first choice.Akpudje who signed a multi-year deal with the Latvian Higher League side on Tuesday following a short trial said he wanted the more familiar No. 4 he wore at former club MFM FC and grassroots club Femmak Football Academy. But with that jersey already in use, he plumped for No. 44 and confessed to already taking a liking to his new jersey.“I chose number 44 because someone had already picked number 4 and I actually like the number,” he told busybuddiesng.com.It has been a meteoric and magical rise for the defender who only made his professional football debut last season in the Nigeria Professional Football League. His prodigious talent earned him a call up to the U23 national side last season even though he had barely featured for MFM FC in the league. He truly announced himself on the domestic scene this season with barnstorming performance at home against Jigawa Golden Stars in a Matchday 15 encounter where he atoned for an own goal with two excellent strikes to win the game for the MFM FC.Long-touted for great things, he told busybuddiesng.com he rejected a summer move to 4-time league champions Kano Pillars to remain with MFM. That foresight has now paid off with his foray into European football with BFC Daugavpils which he hopes will be a pathway to even greater things.Overwhelmed by how far he has come in so short a time, the imposing centre-back took to Twitter to pen heartfelt tributes to grassroots club Femmak Football Academy where he cut his teeth and MFM FC where he made his professional bow and came into prominence. The national U23 team player also confirmed he is in line to make his debut for his new club when they welcome Liepāja in their season opener this weekend at the 3,980-capacity Celtnieks Stadium in Daugavpils.RelatedMFM FC Defender Joshua Akpudje Seals Move To Latvian SideMarch 3, 2020In “Featured”Akpudje Sets Sight On Latvian Title As Debut Beckons (AUDIO)June 15, 2020In “Featured”Joshua Akpudje: BFC Daugavpils Launchpad To Manchester United (AUDIO)June 15, 2020In “Featured” BFC Daugavpils team photoJoshua Akpudje has swiftly settled into new club BFC Daugavpils and has selected a squad number ahead of his expected debut this weekend. The defender joined the rest of his new teammates including compatriots David Idowu and in a photoshoot as preparations ramped up ahead of the start of the Latvian Higher League this weekend.last_img read more
