Share Tweet Share 194 Views   no discussionscenter_img Share Chief Personnel Officer, Careen PrevostComponents of a Service Delivery Improvement Programme are advanced according to Careen Prevost, Chief Personnel Officer responsible for human resources in the public service.Prevost has announced that the programme is aimed at improving the customer experience for those who interact with government departments. “It will help define models for service delivery and our focus will be on people, processes and systems,” Prevost explains adding that a customer’s experience is not just based on interaction with another person but also the systems and processes used.In addition to the decentralization of services, the CPO identified, “We are looking at the use of technology: how do we utilize technology to ensure that individuals can receive services in an faster and more efficient manner.”According to her, an assessment has already been conducted and a database of all the services provided by Government has been prepared in order to examine each aspect of service delivery with a view to improve the experience.Prevost listed fees, forms, the place of service and the means of service delivery.“Making payment easier may mean that we may need to have more credit card machines at various government offices, or utilize e-payment technology.”She also discussed an electronic payment component as a way to improve service delivery which she says is near completion with support from the Information Communication Technology Department and the Ministry for the Digital Economy.“That is in advanced stages. We are working with the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank to ensure that we can have this portal launched very soon” to pay for basic government services.
