“It’s A Reality Now” – Odion Ighalo Arrives At Manchester United (Video)

first_imgOdion Ighalo has arrived in Manchester following his shock deadline day move to Premier League record champions Manchester United. The 30-year-old was snapped up by the Red Devils in a left-field loan move that caught everyone by surprise and was the number one trending topic globally on a night the United Kingdom left the European Union.Read Also: Odion Ighalo – How Ajegunle Boy Broke Twitter On Brexit NightThe Shanghai Shenhua striker who was in pre-season in China at the time of the deal, couldn’t travel immediately to England and missed his new team’s goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. But he finally touched down at Manchester Airport on Sunday morning and will meet his new teammates and manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer on Monday. It marks a return to England for the striker who spent two and a half years at Watford and scored 40 goals in exactly 100 appearances for the Hornets. In his first interview since completing the six-month loan deal to the club he supported as a youth, the former Granada striker who won the Chinese Cup with Shanghai Shenhua last season told Sky Sports News that he is relishing the chance to prove himself at Old Trafford. “It’s a dream come true because since I was a kid I followed and dreamt of Manchester United,” Ighalo told Sky Sports News.“But it is a reality now. I cannot say much more now until I get started.”The move gathered pace on transfer deadline on Friday after it looked like nothing might happen following exploratory talks with the United hierarchy two days prior. And reflecting on the dizzying turn of events before the deal went through, the striker who scored 16 goals in 35 caps for the Super Eagles described events as “crazy”.“It’s been crazy. Obviously, I am happy to be in Manchester first of all.“This is a great opportunity for me and I am grateful to God, and to my agent, and the coach who has given me this opportunity to be here.“I am happy to be here and to work out with the team and finish very well this season.“The plan is to just chill today because I travelled a very long way from Shanghai to Manchester.“Today is to just rest and tomorrow we start to work.”Ighalo will be in line to make his Red Devils debut when United take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 17 February after the end of their winter break.RelatedGernot Rohr Reacts To Odion Ighalo Man Utd Move (AUDIO)February 3, 2020In “England”Odion Ighalo’s Salary At Manchester United RevealedFebruary 7, 2020In “England”Ighalo Breaks Silence Amidst Transfer DebacleJune 1, 2020In “England”last_img read more
