The only team in front of UWF in the national rankings is Grand Valley State University, who is 14-0-1 this season. Bemidji State University, Columbus State University, and Colorado School of Mines round out the top five.* The only two teams ranked in the top 25 from the Gulf South Conference are UWF and Mississippi College. Mississippi College rose to #19 in the poll, with an overall record of (11-1). The Argonauts will visit Mississippi College at the Robert P. Longabaugh Field on October 25th.* The first Divisional Rankings were released by the NCAA earlier this week, and West Florida was announced as the second seed. Barry University was the top seed in the rankings with a 12-0-1 record. Mississippi College, Rollins College, and Lee University follow the Argos to round out the top five teams. GSC Leaders* UWF has three players that lead the Gulf South Conference in statistical categories. Graduate Senior Sam Waarum is the conference leader in Assists Per Game (0.71) and Total Assists (10). Freshman Peyton Peffers leads the conference in Game-Winning Goals with five total. Goalkeeper Esthefanny Barreras is the GSC leader in Goals Against Average (0.311) and Save Percentage (0.886).Upcoming Weekend Matchup* Spring Hill College is (1-8-1) in conference play this season and has a (1-11-1) overall record. The Badgers are coming off of a weekend series where they tied Alabama Huntsville on Friday night 2-2, and lost to West Alabama 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. Spring Hill’s only win this year came against the winless Union Bulldogs back in September. Spring Hill’s Goalkeeper, HP Fluharty, is the Gulf South Conference leader in Saves Per Game with (7.67). UWF is (16-0) overall against Spring Hill and has an (8-0) home record at the UWF Soccer Complex versus the Badgers. The Argonauts will be celebrating Senior Day at the game, honoring nine seniors that have made large contributions to the UWF Women’s Soccer Program. The Seniors that will be honored at the game are Kelsey Douglas, Elizabeth Vickers, Savanna Soares, Victoria Swift, Deneisha Blackwood, Grace Busby, Madison Atkins, Kayla Douglas, and Sam Waarum.
