Edgar Morin King Mohammed VI Bulwark against All Forms of Religious

Paris  – French sociologist and philosopher Edgar Morin on Thursday paid tribute to the role of King Mohammed VI in promoting Islamic values, underlining that the Sovereign is a bulwark against all forms of religious fanaticism and extremism.Speaking at a meeting, held at the Arab World Institute at the initiative of the “Cercle Point Afrique” of “Le Point” magazine, Morin, Director Emeritus for research at the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), highlighted the “tradition of tolerance and acceptance of others” that prevails in Morocco.The French philosopher also noted that the Moroccan arts and cultural season in Paris is a symbiosis between the best of modernity and the best of tradition. The “Contemporary Morocco” exhibition at the Arab World Institute and “The medieval Morocco” at the Louvre represent “a symbiosis between the best of modernity and the best of the tradition,” he said, hailing the rich cultural heritage of the Kingdom and its efforts to promote contemporary arts.
